Default IAC error, doesn’t want to idle above 800rpm

Soo i recently build a d16y7 with a Z6 head turbo. Before I built the motor, it was a full y7 turbo. Well I got the car running and everything works runs good while driving. Only problem I have is while idling and sometimes when I start to move. While idling it when it’s cold it doesn’t want to stay on at all so I have to give it throttle. Then It warms up and it finally idles by its self but barely. It idles at around 400-500rpm. For that to happen i had to back the idle screw all the way out. I have a the car running on a hondata. I keep getting the IAC ERROR. I’ve checked all the vacuum lines and everything. Ive cleaned the IACV. When I first started the car I noticed I had the IACV Plug mixed up with the power steering plug. So I swapped it over. I also tried a different IACV and still the same thing. The AFR look good. It didn’t have this problem before. I don’t know if the injector dead times would be a problem or if have the plugs mixed up messed up something with the ecu. What else could I try? It also does this weird thing when I start to drive forward sometimes and it just goes full lean and rpms drop down for like 3 seconds and then goes to normal and drives fine.

Post wire colors in the connectors for the PS switch, IAT, TPS, IACV, MAP, and ECT sensors.

you want me to post the colors of the wires for each of the sensors?

Yes, and also posting pictures would eliminate any ambiguities.

Yes, because just for starters... your Y7 would have a 3-wire IACV and your Z6 manifold will have a 2-wire IACV (I know this because you admittedly tried to plug the P/S pressure switch plug into it). You are still throwing an IACV code, so you haven't moved the blue/black wire in your Y7 harness to the proper location either. This all suggests that you really don't have a grasp on the wiring of your engine, so muellersfan is being thorough to help you through it.

So, please make a list and snap some pics... and post them both here so we can exorcise the demons from your car.

I’ve already done the 3 wire to 2 wire conversion since I’m running hondata s300. The p/s switch is also a 2 wire plug so it wouldn’t be the 3 wire plug. I did it when I first turboed the car and swapped the y7 manifold to the y8 manifold but in the morning I’ll take pictures of the color of the wires. The problem didn’t show up till after I pulled the motor and built it

Still haven’t got it to idle right, I’ve replaced the intake manifold gasket and throttle body gasket too

You might have the IACV wires backward in the plug! check the link for the wire colors to match. Use solder and or shrink wrap! don't use electrical tape it will insulate it from the heat and it will eventually melt. Be sure the wires are in the proper order when its plugged into the sensor. It could be why you still have the IACV error on Hondata.

Check the IACV duty cycle in the parameters and see if its turned down or if its at the normal setting. Also check what the base idle is set for in parameters.

Do you have lean protection enabled in the Hondata?

This might help,

Still haven’t figured it out, do you guys think it could be mechanical timing? It’s a d16y7 bottom end with a z6 head, I did the mechanical timing the way you’re supposed to but with it being a mini swap idk if that’d change anything.... I did a pull in it and it feels sooo slow... it’s fully built bottom end and i have it on wastegate pressure Soo it’s around 10psi but it literally makes no power at all even under full boost. It feels like the timing is retard but ignition timing is on point.

Definitely check timing marks, especially that its being sluggish or like you said, " I did a pull in it and it feels sooo slow.." .
