Default B16a2 vtec not engaging

Hi all im from the UK

Can anyone shed some light, have a b16a2 swapped civic and it’s got the later vtec solenoid with no pressure switch.

Recently just fitted the hondata s300 ecu p28 and uploaded the jdm b16 p30 base map.

I disabled the knock sensor and the oil pressure switch in vtec parameters. Car is still not going into vtec.

I checked the vtec solenoid and thats fine. Have car booked in to get mapped soon as it’s running a bit rich atm and needs mapped. Car has zero fault codes showing.

So, it sounds like you either have an ECU or s300/programming issue.

How can you tell the car isnt going into vtec? I have a bone stock em1 with alot of extra sound insulation and I literally cant tell if vtec engages. Is there a light or something you can install?

You can T in an LED into the vtec signal wire. I have seen people install a light in their cluster to signal them Vtec engaged.
