Acceleration shuddering, loss of power.
I have an automatic '15 Civic EX with 80k miles on it. A few times recently, I've noticed that when I try to accelerate from a stop, it hesitates/stalls for a split second, then it accelerates normally. This morning, I drove 25 miles without issue but when accelerating away from the first stop light after I got off the highway, it started shuddering horribly like I was driving over rumble strips and it felt like it was running at about half power. It got better as I got to higher speeds but did it again after stopping the next few stop lights. Once I got it into the parking garage at work, I put it in neutral and rev'd the engine, which sounded and felt normal. When I put the car back in drive and tried to accelerate, the shudder and loss of power came back. Tried reverse and the same thing happens. When I put it in low gear and accelerate, the shudder is considerably "faster" than it is at the same RPM in drive. It seems to be something transmission related to me but I'm no expert. Any thoughts? I'm planning on getting it into the Honda dealership today.
Side note, I know I just joined today but I did some extensive searching before joining to ask the forum. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that matched up exactly with what I'm experiencing. I'll be very grateful if anyone can help.

My 2013 is doing the same exact thing. My mechanic called it "bucking." Anyway, what did they tell you it was, please? I have no knowledge of what it could be at this time. Thanks in advance.
Hello! I have a 2015 Honda Civic EX Sedan with 152k miles on it. My car just has started doing this exact same thing over this past weekend. Did you find out what yours was?
I had a transmission flush done in Jan of this current year, so I don’t think I need that done. I’m curious to know before I go spend money diagnosing.
Thank you.
