I don't know how to fix an internal speedometer issue or maybe it is the speed sensor?

 

Does your speedometer bounce around sometimes when driving?

The VSS is simply a pulse wave generator and from my experience rarely goes bad. The board on the back of the speedometers seems to be a much more common issue.

 

If its showing 40 mph at idle, unplug the speed sensor. If the speedo drops its probably a shorted sensor. If it stays you either have a bad cluster or a wire getting power when in shouldn't

 

idk what bump means so I'm sorry if I'm doing it but I'm having the same issue right now how did you solve it ?

 

Bump means you just brought up an old thread from the dead~ or you comment on a thread like a for sale thread and it will go back to the top of the page for everyone to see.


Have you tested or tried and diagnosing yet?

You can try swapping the board from another gauge cluster and also try another speed sensor
