2000 Prelude timing
My timing belt broke 2 months ago I was told the valves were bent in the head so I bought a new one I had it adjusted and everything put it on myself I was told I wasn't building any compression that I had 30 PSI in each cylinder so I was told I needed new piston ring so I bought some I put them on myself I gaped them myself no I'm not a mechanic but I am mechanically inclined to do things well the car still will not start I've set the timing before and I've heard the car the sound it makes when the timing is off and it still sounds like the timing is on how can I have everything lined up and it still sound like that

Compression test? Leakdown test? If the rings are good, and new head with straight valves, and timing is correct, my next thought would be that the valves are not closing all the way.
