Should I get coil overs on my stock eh3?
92 stock eh3. As title says, should I buy coil overs for my car? I’ve heard skunk2 are pretty good for the price. The plan for this car is to rebuild everything from ground up and I plan to keep it stock as far as modification goes and take it to car shows..
are coil overs a better replacement for stock oem shocks? The only thing I heard about coil overs are they add adjustability to ride height. Do they also offer good driving experience to the whole car? Thank you guys, any advice is appreciated

Excellent suggestion.
If these two were all that you have heard about... choose the Tein product. The Skunk2 products are of lower quality and typically have higher spring rates which means that they ride rougher.

I’d recommend a set of Bilstein B6 shocks with H&R Sport Springs. Both are made in Germany. I personally wouldn’t mess with Skunk2 (China built) and since you don’t need the adjustability of coilovers the Bilstein/H&R set up is simple and very reliable.

Also, so what I truly want out of this car is a nice clean stock (for the most part) ride. I do not plan to do an engine swap or turn it into a track what so ever. I need to find good adjustable coil overs that I can use to lower the car a bit but still have a good ride quality as a daily (as in minimal bump stops and bottom out) now I know that I have to sacrifice a bit of comfort for performance by lowering the car but I do not want it slammed.. just an inch or two below stock ride height is good enough
As for Tein coilovers, the spring rates are way too soft, especially the entry level models. I have never owned a set but have installed a few for other people.
You can actually find them cheaper from a wholesaler besides Progress themselves. I believe I got mine from THMotorsports for about $70 or so less than what was offered on here. Different spring rates too.

I've had skunk2 pro 2s on my car for about 4 years now and they're still holding up even with driving on Memphis' garbage roads. But I will agree with you if he's never been in a car with coils they're going to be a rougher ride for him
