Default Looking for opinions before ordering (B16B turbo)

Yesterday I received my Go Autoworks "Race - Journal Bearing" turbo kit with a Garrett T3/T4 50 trim .63 AR turbo with his mini ram manifold, Tial 38mm MVS, etc... going on a factory stock EK9 B16B in my 93 Civic VX.

Now I am getting ready to order the Hondata S300, injectors, Aeromotive factory rail mount fuel pressure regulator, Walbro 255 HP pump, AEM wideband, etc..

I have ID 1050x injectors selected in my cart, I know they are overkill for my setup but have heard great things about ID and seems like they can be "tuned down" easily and still retain good idle and driveability characteristics. This true?

I plan on running around 8 pounds of boost and pump 93 octane. Tossing around the idea of potentially running flex fuel (pump E85) but not sure and doubtful.

Just wanted to get some thoughts on if this sounds okay. This is just a KISS type of street setup.

Also looking for recommendations on competent tuners in the IN-OH-MI-IL area. I am considering Jeff Evans or Innovative Motor Works but both are in PA and very far drive, however, it may be worth it. Also considering Morse/Blundell/TPR in Ohio.

You're planning to run a .63 size turbo and only run 8psi of boost? C'mon man.

Setup looks great. You chose the golden example of t3/t04 turbos. You wont have problem with anything. Just use good fuel cause you have high CR. With 93 youll be golden.
We wait for dyno results. Unfrtunately i cant help with tuners cause im from the other side of the planet

Go ahead and throw a 10psi spring on there so you can make just over 300hp on 93.

Here's the dyno from my old setup with a 50 trim t3/t4, custom mini ram on a B16a1. Great responsive turbo with a linear powerband on a b16.

I'm running ID1000's on my turbo D16Z6 and I installed them with Hondata about 6 months before I installed the turbo kit. They idle and drive like a completely stock injector to me. All I did was install them and pick ID1000's from the drop-down on the fuel injector tab in SManager - piece of cake.

That's the feedback I was looking for - thank you. I ordered the rest of the items, including the ID1050x's today after work. This should be about everything I need now once this big order arrives. Then the fun starts

The FIC 1000cc injectors I had on my turbo S2000 idled and ran completely fine after being tuned. The FPR and rail aren't necessities for your build, but if you want to upgrade them, go for it.

Setup seems good, turbo will perform well. Should be a blast.

It's like having a high HP car and driving 35mph all the time.

Maybe. I think it'll be a fun little street setup.

Thanks again everyone for the feedback on the injectors. Maybe I should start a build thread now...

So, things have changed slightly on this. After deciding against boosting the B16B and trying to sell this turbo kit for a year or so, I contacted 4 Piston to get an engine package together

I will be using their GSR cores and selling the B16B and the 98 spec JDM ITR trans in my EG now.

I went with the 4 Piston turbo/street race sleeved engine, Wiseco Boost Line rods, and Diamond Rebel pistons. They do their full treatment to the head too. So I'm pretty excited to get this rolling.

I suppose I'll just stick with this current turbo setup I already have as a stepping stone to get back into turbo Hondas. What I feel is nice about this engine package is if I want to get back into it at 400 whp it can do it and as I progress and change things it can take 1000 hp too, so lots of room to grow.

Shame, it's rare to see built/modified B16B setups.

Good luck with the new build direction. Engine from 4P will be amazing.

Yeah they are very rare just even having one, let alone a boosted B16B. Just felt it wasn't worth going down that road with a B16B all though I love it NA stock. I think my choice in getting the 4P engine is a better direction overall for my goals.

I'm still messing around after about 6 years of dragging my feet, with all my parts for my rebuild. So, don't feel alone. I just wanted it to where I can use Grundy Insurance properly.

That’s a good plan. It seems like a lot of the big horsepower numbers are from built B18C1 engines.
Four hundred is plenty of horsepower and then you can switch the turbo and manifold if you want to later.
How much $ are you looking to get for the B16B?

Exactly my thoughts on it. An injector change, manifold change, and turbo change and turn up the wick!

B16B with JDM ITR 4.7 trans is a $alty combo these days. I'd be open to offers on it.

I’m not sure if you are willing to part it out, but how about $2k for the B16B cylinder head complete with intake manifold, throttle body, wiring harness, cams, valve cover, etc...?
