Transmission Swap?
Hey guys,
I wanting to try to get some information on something here, I looking into getting a 98 Honda Civic Sedan DX with a D16 5 speed (don’t know if its Y5 ,Y7 ,Y8 or A2 model), I’m wanting to put a Ej7 HX 5 speed in it for better gas mileage. Will it bolt up without any modifications need?
P.S
Future build for high pulls with turbocharged system if this helps.

It’s a y7 engine.
the transmission you can change, but it’s counterintuitive to do so if you’re planning on turboing it.
just keep your foot off the skinny pedal and you’ll get decent mpg.

Lol I’ll keep the pedal at a decent level lol..but how would it be counterproductive in I run turbo set in the long run...I thought more final gear the better for high top speed as long you have the power to pull the gears?
Now, if you're hypermiling, the VX or HX transmission will work OK for that, but be prepared to downshift a LOT if there are any hills where you live. You will likely need to use other driving techniques as well to maximize your mileage.
