Default How come no abs ring on outer cv joint?

I have a 2006 Honda CR-V with abs. I took off the front right half axle to replace it. I was very surprised to see that there was no abs ring on the outer cv. Does anyone know how the abs works without a ring?

Honda no longer used the ABS tone ring (pulser) on the axle like previous generations. It has a magnetic encoder incorporated into the wheel bearing. The ABS system uses sensors to pick up a signal from the magnetic encoder on the wheel bearing.
