Default D15b2 with Y8 head question.

I've done a bit of research and I cannot find a correct answer.

I have a d15b2 bottom end with a y8 head.
I installed a b2 timing kit but I used the y8 timing belt
it is the only way I could get some tension on the belt
the problem I am having is the car with not start I can finesse it
with some starting fluid but it automatically dies I've read online
you need an adjustable cam gear the advance it by 4.75 I haven't
tried it yet but I wanted to see if someone can give me a better input on
things.

Thanks.

Default Re: D15b2 with Y8 head question.

I was able to get the car running my friend installed a base map tune on my P28 computer so you do not need
a adjustable came gear i used a Y8 cam gear and made sure the timing is good and the car ran fine..

I did confused with the wires for the Crank Angel Sensor so yeah ... But that another thing for another day..

So if anyone decides to do this build You do NOT need a Y7 cam gear or Z6 gear or B2-B7 gear lol Y8 gear
worked out just fine if you would like to check out this build follow me on instagram and Youtube

Sure it runs. you are missing out on a little power though.
The deck height is different between the D16 and D15. (D16 is something like 5mm taller)
This changes the length of timing belt between the crank and cam making the mechanical timing off a bit.
To correct this, an adjustable cam gear is used.
