Default cxracing wastegate vacuum to brake boost downpipe loud sound

my turbo kit cxracing tsx 04-08, wastegate 8psi spring. I read numerous threads saying you can vent to air or to brake boost. So just to see, i connected top port wastegate vent to air currently to the brake booster line and the pipedown is now very loud at idle. why? is my wastegate bad?

‘I’m not completely sure what you saying or asking..... but it sounds like your doing some guessing which usually results in a blown up motor

ok let me try again. turbo pressure line to middle port of wastegate. top port of wastegate vent to air. that's what i have. now, i've read many threads, people said they can either vent to atmosphere or connect to brake booster vacuum. so to try out, i connected top port of wastegate to brake booster and at idle, the car is very loud. the loud noise is coming out of the downpipe, wastegate outlet

as to how wastegate works, i read here https://www.turbosmart.com/news/how-...astegate-work/

why does it act like this on my car? it's nothing fancy, entry level precision turbo, cxracing turbo tsx 04-08 kit, 38mm external wastegate 8psi spring.

i will stay with my original setup, top port of wastegate vent to air.

maybe i invest in a better wastegate like this one later https://www.full-race.com/store/wast...9mm-wastegate/

Apply vac to bottom port of wastegate, top vents to atmosphere. The top port is only to be used if you're running an EBC. DO NOT connect this port to anything unless you're running electronic boost control.

Yes, by connecting the top port directly to the brake booster line, you've connected it to a vacuum port, so at idle it's applying full vacuum to the top of the wastegate and so your wastegate is fully open. Probably not a good idea.

i thought that was he was saying, which also means it would not open under boost either if I’m not mistaken

Yep. If the top port is connected to boost/vacuum and the bottom port is open to atmosphere, he will send his motor into the stratosphere because the WG will be open under vacuum and it will not open under boost. If the top port is connected to boost/vacuum and the bottom port is connected to boost only (such as the turbo's compressor cover), the WG will be open in vacuum and will essentially run on WG spring pressure under boost, since the top and bottom of the diaphragm would see the same pressure (under boost...throttle plate open).

They come with detailed instructions, with pictures, access to a 24/7 tech install hotline, and a shop porter named "Jeeves" to help with installation..
