Default 1991 Civic E-Brake Light Stays On

I was cruising on the freeway, when out of nowhere the Parking Brake light turns on. Haven’t been able to turn it off since.

One of the precious owners converted the rear drum brakes to discs, and there’s some air in the brake lines.
I noticed one of the hoses around the front right wheel was damp, and that the rear left disc looks like it rest on the rotor even with the parking brake off.

Rear right brake

Front right wheel

Damp hose

The brake light is probably on because the fluid level is low due to the leak. Replace that hose - it’s the front right, correct? Then bleed the system and see if you’ve still got problems.

im not familiar with the drum->disc swap so not sure what youve got going on there... what do you mean rotor rests on the disc?

The float in the brake reservoir will trip that light, as Smackin said. Check the level.

There is a switch on the side of your ebrake that should only close when the brake is pulled up - if that has somehow shorted it can also cause the light to stay on.

And get the air out of your brake system, whatever you do.

the brake light is warning you that you have a leak. youve found it in your picture. fix that.

there should NEVER be a damp hose. not sure why large red warning lights arent flashing in your brain when you see this...

Thanks for the reply! I’m definitely going to replace that line now. I thought the moisture might be coming from somewhere else, but I’m going to treat it as a leak regardless, and bleed the system while I’m at it.
Also I checked the brake fluid reservoir, and the fluid level is indicated to be right between min and max, could the system still be low on fluid regardless?
When I said the disk rests on the rotor, I meant the pad maintains contact with the rotor even when no brakes are engaged. Sorry for the confusion.
