Default 2008 Civic SI - Trying to Diagnose Noisy Drivetrain

Hi everyone -

A few days ago, I started noticing a vert annoying and awful noise coming from my '08 Civic SI. Through other youtube vids and forum post, I feel like it could be a transmission input/output shaft bearing or a clutch throwout bearing.

The noise mostly starts in 2nd gear and stays a constant pitch. When I clutch out or go into neutral, the noise completely disappears. I'm attaching two clips with audio to see if it helps you guys. Any ideas?

TIA!

Update: Took it to two places - Honda dealership and Local transmission shop. They used a stethoscope and narrowed it down to being bad differential bearings. The local shop said it would make most sense to find a used transmission, Honda says they can do the work to the tune of 15 hours of labor @ $146/hr, plus parts.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? Any advice?

Thanks!
