I just installed a new gtx3071r.,4an feed from sandwich adapter and vibrant oil restrictor bled the feed before startup. I have only had the car idling and reving to about 2500, not even driven yet as I’m setting up my base map, bleeding coolant etc. When I give a quick rev or shut the car off and the turbo is spoiling down I’m getting a weird sound coming from the turbo. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid and not wanting to screw up a brand new turbo or something is wrong. Never heard this sound from my T3/t4 turbo. Anyone have this before?

Wheel is still spinning. Those ball bearings keep rollin! I dunno if it may be a tad dry or not, somebody else may comment on the sound itself but otherwise, this is completely normal.
Sounds dry to me. I would remove the oil feed line off the turbo and stick it into a bottle and unplug the ECU then turn the motor over until there is oil pressure. At least you will know for sure if there is oil pressure or not at that point.
Sounds completely normal. it isn't "dry" or anything else. It's just the ball-bearings making contact with its cage while still spinning. This must be your first Garrett ball-bearing turbo with a ported shroud!

Thanks for the replies guys! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I’ll bleed the feed line again just to be on the safe side. @TheShodan yes it definitely is lol. My last one was a custom T3/T4 built by cherry turbo, no ported shroud. Definitely some new sounds to me. I’m just being a little over cautious I guess.
