Default Turbo b18c1 forced internals can’t figure out why vtec won’t engage

Vtec wasn’t engaging on the Dyno so we checked the oil pressure is good 60+ psi, ecu vtec pin is making contactbut wasn’t when he first checked so now it’s fixed, Speedo works, switched to a good vtec solenoid and still same issue, no breaks in the vtec harness it’s a new tucked harness, tested a good working ecu with vtec and nothing. Was missing the little o ring gasket and the little cylinder piece that goes on the middle cam holder, but bought oem and installed and nothing. Oil is full. Checked the vtec screen and it’s clean. So now I’m lost...

could it be the lmas are worn...? I checked them by pushing on them before I installed the head and they move freely up and down don’t know if that’s how you test them though...

the vtec pressure sensor isn’t connect too but I have it disabled in Hondata.

So only thing I can think of is something mechanical and it be the vtec locking pins or lmas...?

Any ideas lmk guys thanks

Is that correct? It's there for a reason. If you don't have enough oil pressure to engage VTEC, you certainly wouldn't want to switch to the high cam maps. That's the only thing that stands out to me.

I can wire up a vtec pressure switch easily, just thought that since the tuck harness didn’t come with one and I can disable it in Hondata then I wouldn’t need to hook it up...

Wired up vtec pressure switch still does same thing. Weird thing though when I enabled secondary map, vtec engages and pulls hard and starts spinning the wheels. But this isn’t how it’s suppose to be! Lol secondary map is used for different fueling etc etc.

so I’m goin to swap my vtec pins from my old head and mayb wire up my knock sensor even though I have it disabled. I’m running out of ideas.

You sure don't want to switch to vtec if your oil pressure isn't within spec or higher. I would start there 1st.

we’ve checked the oil pressure on the Dyno and it’s 60+.

I can try to check again since I installed another oil pump. Can you tell me the steps you check vtec oil pressure?
