Manual Swap D16y8 ECU Questions p2p
Hello guys I have some questions about my ecu and was hoping to get some help.
I have a 98 civic ex couple that I'm swapping to a manual it has a d16y8 in it. I ordered a p2p a33 ecu which I believe is the right ecu but the plugs won't all go into the ecu. This is my first time doing the swap myself and I'm a little confused why this is so.
BTW it is a vtec and I did order a vtec 5 speed ecu from what I was told. (Ebay) I'm confused as to which ecu I need to complete the swap because I looked at the guide everyone refers to and got a p2p ecu and it doesn't just plug in. Thanks everyone.

You said the plugs won't all go into the ECU... the 4th Automatic transmission related plug is not supposed to "plug in" to the ECU. The manual ECU will only use three plugs. I am assuming that this is your issue. If it is not, please post a pic of the ECU and plugs and how they are/are not plugged in.
Keep in mind the differences between the different standards, and make sure your harness and ECU are the same type (as per this image)
Okay so adding to his situation cause I'm doing the same, I swapped my trans with a manual and got it running just fine, besides the idle surge from the iacv malfunction code from the auto ecu. I just swapped in the p2p and now on cold start I have to hold the throttle down to keep it running till it warms up and also I have CEL on with no codes and after clearing the ecu the CEL came back on within 30 secs of it running. Once it's warmed up it drives just fine, even better than before the ecu swap. Is this a bad ecu or is something else causing this?
