Default Primary o2 connector

I have a 96 civic with a d16y5 5 speed. My primary o2 connector and some of the harness seems to be missing. I am wondering if these wires need to be shielded and if anyone can help me out with a correct ecu pinout?
I have tried searching and get some conflicting information on a pinout for the y5 of this year.

The primary 4-wire O2 sensor signal wire is indeed shielded.

The Y5 has a five wire LAF.

Please excuse my ignorance what's LAF. Also is there any recommendations for wire to use to run all new o2 wires to the ecu.

Lean air fuel sensor. It’s a wideband lambda sensor rather than the typical four wire oxygen sensor, assuming your HX is a 49 state version. Y5 is a Civic HX. Do you know if it was originally a California car?

The previous owner said it came from Santa Monica.

So is this some kind of rare California eco car? I bought it with the motor out and the rest of the car torn apart.

Actually they aren't that rare. It was the high fuel efficiency model, and the 49 state manual trans version was capable of lean burning, which wasn't legal for California emissions. I thought the California cars got a hardware downgrade to the standard oxygen sensor, but it may have just been all in the ecu calibration. Looking at the manual now though, I arrived at the same diagram that was posted up above... Manual cars got the LAF and auto cars got a standard HO2S. Either connector should be on the distributor side of the engine, under the upper radiator hose, near the exhaust manifold. The wideband connector looks like the mate to this:

The standard connector looks like the mate to this:

Okay so I'm an idiot. I had my primary confused with my secondary. it's the secondary that's missing. it's not by the shifter or behind the motor that I can see. I have a bunch of cut wires in the headlight harness and a plug that matches in that mess but that can't be right. I've spent about an hour under the car looking for it. The previous owner did a hack job on this harness and this is the only thing I'm hung up on. to give you an idea here is some of the bs wiring that I've removed.

I know it's been a bit but my primary is hooked up and after 2 different sensors it still throws a primary o2 code.
I believe these are shielded wires anybody have recommendations on what type of shielded wire to get?
it is the 4 wire o2
