Hello all,

I wondering any ppl build up their engine with Cometic head gasket? I purchased one of thin head gasket for the B18c 82mm.

But After I did the research, I heard many ppl have a leaking, overheating problem with new replaced. somebody say install with copper spray without any problem.
I am confusing do I still go ahead with this gasket or not. I cant find too much aftermarket gasket for 82mm bore.
any disadvantage if I use with the copper spray?

If there isn't the answer that why for it leaked, caused over heating or anything else, that all ”information” is near worthless. There is many other factors also in case, that only amateur or true idiot choose the easiest what to blame without finding out real reason.

I haven’t use copper spray, not seen need for that. Gasket have already viton coat on it.

 

do you used cometic before?
As you says, I will still go on to try it.

 

I've used Cometics in my previous turbo setup (B18B1). Never had an issue with that brand HG. On my current setup, I'm using a Genuine Honda HG. No issues either.....

It's all about the installation. You see it all the time...people throw the HG around, toss it underneath parts, leave it on the ground out in the elements, etc..... That's how their **** gets fucked up.

 

I have used Cometic head gaskets for years... no issues.

 

Yes, on earlier with superbike engines (Suzuki) and now with my sleeved 84mm B16, it is under construction.
