fuel into ?
hello yall . I'm a beginner mechanic (kinda) and I've done my own rebuild on a 68 datsun roadster but I'm no honda girl . Haha yes girl . anyway my friends son has a 2001 honda civic but ever since hes gotten it it hasn't ran without spray into the throat of the intake. anyway new fuel pump seems to be working fine now and my big question is ..... where there is a soft plastic line inside the motor main fuel in coming off a metal line from the tank , it joins a connection (metal right angle) into something ? carb or ? anyway this spot doesn't seem to be open as far as fuel going in . but the main fuel in line hooks to it . we have turned over the motor to see if itll draw in the gas while doing that but nothing moves. the fuel just sits there . I'm sure it needs to be going into the motor somehow to fire so can anyone shed some light on how this system works ? my datsun is all mechanical so I'm not too savvy on this yet . thanks in advance . lorna
I don't think you're going to see fuel spraying down the throttle because it's fuel injected , that fuel line you talked about is where you can hook up a pressure gauge to test the pressure or see if the fuel pump is actually working fine or not .Your experience may differ . Year , model , mileage and engine size is always helpful .
oh shoot sorry . I thought it was in there .
it's a 2001 honda civic 1700 . . theirs several lines there but this is the main line in to the motor . plastic line connects to metal line on fire wall then to under the air filter and into motor . this is the area I'm referring. I'll get a picture and post it next . thanks for getting back to me .

If you cranked the motor with that disconnected fuel should have sprayed out the plastic female end , if you did this on a hot motor you're asking for a fire hazard . That plastic end is where I hooked a rented fuel pressure gauge and got 25 p.s.i. which is not enough . I think it should have been 45 -50 as I remember .Always check for ground and power at the fuel pump disconnect

glad my pictures made it . got ya .
well from there to the motor are the injectors so no fuel or anything will flow through there unless they are pulsing , maybe you should check for injector pulse with a noid light , not sure what you got going on ,
nope no nod light . he did hook up the battery backwards again . kinda checked the fuses that blew last time he did that .haha . I'll try again today with starter spray to see if it will fire . if not I'll better check the fuses . it should fire up then if that's a blocked line basically.. (however you day it ) I'll be back to say what happened . thanks
perhaps auto mechanics isn't your thing , If you hook batt. cables up wrong a second time you should give it up for real , it won't fire from spraying anything in the throttle
ok so far it's starting with starter spray in butterfly valve thing . maybe throttle throat isnt correct . I don't always pull the right vocabulary when texting or asking questions . if I even said it rite this time hopefully u know where I mean . no it wasn't me hooking up battery backwards ..haha but fuel seems to be reaching the firewall clip for fuel . is there another I could check that does go through to injectors or wherever next for the fuel to go into ? its definitely running with fuel spray so it's not spark or compression . pump new and working . new header and cat converter . that's about all I've done trying to smog and now its sit a year , start it up ... what else should I check ? pls and thanks
I'm going to reset the computer again and see what's up . I dont think I've done that since hes messed up the battery the second time . hopefully this works .. wish me luck . should be working so must be this .. hope ..
