Default D16A6 rough idle

I have a few questions regarding a D16A6 i put into my rt4wd wagon recently. I got it running, seems a little rough and the rpms fluctuate at idle. After 5-10 minutes of idling the rpms drop to almost 0 then cones back up to 750, then fluctuates up and down by about 50 rpms. No CEL.

I put a new timing kit on the engine before putting it in the car; if the mechanical timing was slightly off, would it cause a rough idle?

Checked compression with car warmed up- shows 150-156-154-164. If timing was off would it show on compression test? I will try a wet compression test to see if rings are ok.

Tested TPS with multimeter, comes out as .72 closed and 4.57 at WOT. Seems normal. I will clean the iacv

Timing, by itself, would not. However, you need to start with the basics to make sure everything is covered. I would verify the mechanical timing is dead on. Also, make sure there are no vacuum leaks. I assume you have adjusted the valves correctly. Check the vacuum line to the MAP sensor and make sure it is functioning. If you find any issues, correct them and reset the ECU before doing more testing. Another issue I have read about (but not experienced) is to make sure the cooling system is properly bled and has no air pockets.

Seems normal? You want .5 closed and 4.5 WOT. Calibrate the TPS.

150's are a bit low for compression. Still within spec, but showing some wear for sure.
180 would be a decent number.
That 164 is mildly worrisome. but, again, it's within spec

Not on a SOHC motor, and only on a DOHC motor if the cams aren't timed correctly relative to each other you might see the overlap bleeding compression. Unlikely though.
