ANOTHER 9005 Silverstar conversion question... (sorry, I did a search)
I don't own a dremel tool. What other kind of tool can I use to do the cutting? I was trying to use a box cutter blade, but it wasn't working. I don't want to cut myself.
TIA!
TIA!
I just bought 9005 sockets and wired it up. Its a lot more easier for the next time when u replace bulbs if it does burn out.

are you talking about the little slots inside the housing?

I used some small files and a very sharp x-acto knife. It took awhile so be prepared. I am going to have to do it again soon since I had a SilverStar burn out after 7-8 months.

where do you guys by Sylvannia Superstars? I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them at reasonable prices(i.e. ricer shops).
I want to do the conversion with a good quality brand bulb.
Since most people do them with Sylvannis, I figured I would start there and then get some PIAAs later and mess around and experiment.
Anyways, back to the issue, where do you guys get Silverstars??

any Kragen/Checkers/Shucks or Autozone should carry the Sylvania Silverstars for about $20-25... theres a $10 mail in rebate on them on the purchase on a pair.. I think its valid until december...
hey man what kind of ground effects are those on your car? I have no desire to get a body kit, but that looks really nice, stock-looking.

Of all the stories I've heard of people doing the 9005 Silverstar conversion, about 75% of the people say at least one of the bulbs burned out within the 1st 2 months....beware.
I used a $17 set of sylvania (or philips, cant remember) cool blue 9005 bulbs. They work like a charm. Sooo much better light output than the stock 9006'ers.
