you should aim them like stock, which means the cutoff beam on a wall should be an inch or two below the height of the headlight from the ground.
Did you all add more O-rings to the new converted bulb like the site says?
I'm contemplating 9006 PIAA Xtreme vs. converted 9005 Xtreme. Is the converted 9005 going to be overkill for oncoming drivers?
I finally had a low beam PIAA 9006 Platinum burn out after 3 years of use.

Definetely install the extra rings from your old set of bulbs. The 9005's are of a slightly smaller diameter than the 9006's, and thus, their o-ring is not big enough to seal off the lamp enclosure. I found this out two days after installing 9005's and having driven in a rain storm. The next day I had two very wet headlight enclosures.
I used a shop vac to suck all the moisture out. I had to run it for about 45 minutes, but all is good now. I installed the second set of o-rings, and have had no further moisture problems, driving through smaller showers of rain.
