Advice on what to save before I send a Civic to scrap
A little while back, I bought for $350 a 1999 Civic LX that I was going to fix up and resell, but upon further inspection found some issues with the body and frame rails that I considered to be too much of a hassle to tackle.
That being said, I have decided to scrap the car, but I’m going to save/sell some pieces off it before it goes to scrap. Some things I’ll keep for myself, and others will be sold.
I removed:
engine harness
ecu
fuse box
battery tray
I plan to remove:
Air bags
Cup holders
trim
dash harness
radio bezel
instrument cluster bezel
instrument cluster
wheels
subframe
What are some other things that would be good to hold onto?

This is not intended to be an opinion thread/poll, but is here for the intent to learn what parts are needful to be held onto. We need this information as Civic owners because our cars are getting old and parts will someday become very hard to come by.

Hood release cable, gas tank, fuel pump, radiator support, bumpers, and roof, all weather stripping, body and engine bay rubber gromets and plastic clips. Just cause you never know you know.
All nuts and bolts just cause you never know when you’ll need them.

Thank you guys. Your insight is priceless!
I discovered yesterday that this 99 ek has an evaporator box with the little space for a cabin air filter! Guess what’s going in my Civic?
The under dash fuse box is out, the harness (left side dash harness?) that goes to the instrument cluster is out, and the right side harness (?) that goes to the evaporator and heater box is out. May be able to pull the dash this evening.
Any tips on what to look out for before I pull that?

You've got a Honda hardware bin don't you? If you don't, strip off every nut, bolt, screw, and washer that you can and start collecting them. I've got a set of organizer drawers at home with hardware broken down by large, medium, and small bolts, nuts, washers, screws, and then a "small parts" and "large parts" drawer for random clips, brackets, and other odds and ends. I can't tell you how often I go to these for something, and usually find what I'm after.

Yes, I do. And for Nissan’s and GM’s. Lol
And I always keeps bolts. Brackets could be either or, just depends on the shape, but I may just do what you suggested and get some bins just for the brackets.

have you done dash before? It can be a beast. I highly recommend sitting right behind the shifter and gradually lowering the dash onto your legs. This will help you not damage it as well as let you see if it’s still hooked up anywhere. My only other tip is make sure the defrost vent bolt and the two side bolts behind covers are out as well as dash buttons/flashers, gauge cluster is unhooked, and the clock screw is out. May be different on EK. Requires some careful and strong finagling to remove and set in place without scratches.
USE CLOTHS OR PAPER TOWELS TO NOT SCRATCH AREAS WHERE YOU KNOW THERE WILL BE FRICTION, PRYING, RUBBING.
I would also save some fire retardant foam/plugs from the firewall in case you ever need a patch or seal.
