Car sputtering when hot
I have a 2002 Honda Accord LS, has 136,000 miles on it. Lately in the very hot Texas weather I’ve found that after driving it around (30 minutes or so) the car will have trouble when taking off from a stop at a light or a sign, the car will accelerate but the Rpms jump between two and three and the car will jerk forward. The car itself isn’t over heating but the weather is affecting it. During short drives I have no problems, even if the weather is 100+ degrees it’s just the longer drives on hot days that I am noticing this. Is there any place I should start?
Perhaps it's just having trouble handling the heat. There are conditions that will make any car overheat. My friend swore he could drive his beauty 150+ miles in hot July without giving it a few rest stops. Broke down last week and had to wait for AAA out in the middle of nowhere. Running engines are extremely hot anyway, so if the only air it can suck in is 100°+ there is going to be a reaction of some kind.
