Default 99 Civic no middle vent flow

No airflow through middle two dash vents. Old posts say ducting or unplugged harness.
?
This ac only gets middling cool. Only at the start and end of a drive, also.

So, I've got two things, at least going on.

Can I get to the ducting?
Where do I look for wiring harness?
Or is this a control door simply gunked up or worn out?

Pete

My guess is your mode motor has failed and is stuck in the defrost mode. Feel near the glass and see if it is blowing air on the defrost vents.

They are also designed in the event of failure to fail in defrost mode for safety reasons.

I think you're right. Found the little black plastic motor box. Going to order one.

Then, I've got to figure out why the AC gets ice cold, then warm, then fades out to stay warm until the end of about a 20 minute drive, when it comes back to lukewarm type cool.

If it was always semi cool if think it needs charged but it moves all over the place. Compressor seems consistent so....

Wait until you see how it behaves after you replace the mode motor . It's in defrost and the ac is going to act different. Then move forward if need be. Wear gloves when replacing, that grove is sharp!
