hey guys, so I'm coming here to see if I can get some help. I have a 2001 civiv lx. my ac is blowing hot air, the compressor kicks on once I hit the ac button, the condenser fan is working as well, I changed the expansion valve and still nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated. the compressor doesn't cycle on and off as well. Took it to a shop and they said the compressor doesn't work, yet it turns on when engaged

So Im not actually sure what you are trying to explain here.......the compressor kicks on but doesnt kick off? Or does it not engage at all? Engage with direct power?

 

Yes it kicks on but I get no cold air, direct power isn’t necessary as it’s working as soon as the ac button is hit

 

First things first, have you checked refrigerant levels/pressure? Do the lines get cold?

 

The lines do not get cold at all, and that’s the thing, last time I refilled the refrigerant the lines would get cold, now it doesn’t

 

Have you had a gauge on it recently? Thats where id start, may be just barely enough to let the compressor kick on, but not enough to cool

 

Def was full, gauges we on it, but still just warm air.

 

I have the same issue. Try to add R-134A but no help.
