Default Code 1457 on 2005 Civic

Hi, new to the forum. I have a 2005 Honda civic with a p1457 cel code. I tested the vent solenoid attached to the canister, and that actuated and held vacuum. Right next to the other end of the canister are 2 other solenoids. I took off the lower one, and can actuate it, but not sure how to test it. It seems to let air flow in either position, but especially when solenoid actuated. Is it supposed to allow air flow otherwise? Any help in diagnosing? I'm still not exactly sure what the P1457 indicates, or what triggers it to be set.

Evap canister valve leak. The canister itself could be leaking too, not just the valve. Gas cap tight?

Cleared code, now I’m getting a pending p0497 code. Both the vent and purge solenoids seemed tight, and the back end held vacuum. I guess I’ll need to do a smoke test

If it's pending, the computer hasn't made it's mind up yet. Run it for a day or two and see if that changes.

Hondas can have a ruined Charcoal element in the Evap Box Caused almost always by Overfilling the fuel tank too many times:.
Then Gas pours onto the charcoal destroying it. New evap canisters are Surprisingly pricey.
But if it's actually messed ..there is NO other choice..
