What would be the best ways/methods/things to use to get your engine head clean. I know there are a bunch of ways. What are your thoughts/experiences??

Go to ralphs.
Get a bottle of simple green and a 5 gallon bucket.
Fill bucket with simple green and water.
Soak overnight.

 

take head off (about 1.5 hours in labor), take it to a machine shop, have them give it an acid bath (about $30 or so). and voila, your head is squeaky clean.

 

I think I'll try this one...

 

Didn't know if simple green would get all the deposits cleaned out.

 

i would acid dunk it so it looks brand new and nice and silver....

 

simple green is corrosive to aluminum.. we arent alowed to use it on aircraft parts in the military anymore... i guess they did a study where they soaked aluminum sheet metal in simple green and it took off a signifigant amount just overnight. take it to a machine shop and have them clean it.. its not expensive

 

Thats what I am going to do. Just have to find a place around here.

 

i would say get in the shower, but a bottle of shampoo on your head, and whack away!(or have someone else do the whackin')
