Default Custom Strut Top-hats for lifted CR-V

I have a 99 RD1 which I have lifted using Old Man Emu springs.

Extended top hats are common for lowered cars and I have been toying with the idea making “reduced” top hats for the CRV to help my suspension function better.

The OME springs advertise 1.75” of lift front and rear. I’ve done approximate measurements and that seems accurate for the front. The rear gained closer to 2.5” for me.

I could do something like take a hole saw and cut out the the center of my top hat and sink it with some tubing and a welder without much trouble. I don’t really like just picking a measurement to sink and going with it though.

I would like to find a practical way to do this and make it adjustable. I had thought about doing what I mentioned above with some threaded sleeves but the strut tower openings on the chassis where the center of the top hat slides through are 1.95” at the narrowest point. I’m not willing to cut the chassis so that doesn’t leave much room to work with.

Im looking for ideas or input.
Thanks.

I decided extending extending the strut rod will be much easier. Should have thought of that first.
