Default 1975 xl250 dirty carb

I screwed up and stored my 1975 xl250 for over a year without draining the carb. I took apart the bowl and cleaned out the gunk but it is clogged between the fuel inlet and the float valve. I pushed a blunt needle into the passage between the inlet and the float valve and it seems clear. I'm unable to remove the float valve to clean around it; the needle does move up and down though.

Right now it is sitting with carb cleaner in the fuel inlet in the hope that it works something loose. Can anyone help out? Thanks.

It'll help to buy a rebuild kit while you're super cleaning it and just replace all gaskets and seals.

The carb cleaner worked. It runs but will require fresh gas. I should rebuild it before bringing it out into the woods though.
