CAR WONT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR

hello i have a 2000 honda civic ex i have changed transmission fluid and when i drive it it will shift from 1st to 2nd gear but it will not shift out of 2nd gear it stays in 2nd gear what could my problem be?

How did you confirm you have enough fluid after replacing?

cause i had put the 3 required quarts into the car and i have extra i also let it heat up and checked the fluid the fluid level is full not over full just full

Guessing it’s a automatic tranny... cause manual doesn’t have a dipstick to check fluid at least not on my old civic hatch

yes its an automatic tranny could i have a bad solenoid?

What kind of tranny fluid you used?

Yes, it could be one of the solenoids went bad.

i used the tranny fluid for hondas this is also my first time owning a car my car was given to me after i got my license it just randomly done this about a week ago i changed the fluid it was very dark but didnt smell burnt
