I have a Honda CR-V 2000. I need to replace a front left lower motor mount. The upper flange doesn't line up -- it's high and to the side, maybe 1/2". The part # is correct, 50828-S10-004. What to do?

Maybe there's a different part number for a different year that will fit?

HERE IS THE CRUX OF THE MATTER!!! I mounted the bad new part and the two lower bolts fit just fine. But now the car is quite loud and it seems due to vibration. This car was involved in a crash and everything else that got bent was replaced and now seems fine. So I'm now thinking the vibration noise is coming from the mis-fit mount. ...DO YOU THINK THIS IS LIKELY??? I only want to fix this because I think it'll make the car quieter. If I work my butt off getting this part to fit and it's still loud, well, that will be sad.

Hmmm, it looks like this replacement part is supposed to work for a LOT of years.

I can see the bolt hole down below the flange and off to the side.

i suppose my only fix is a salvage yard for an original part.

it's just really too bad that the very cheap very common replacement part doesn't fit. ...i'd think there'd be other complaints about this out there.

 

Ah ha! I figured something out. I went to the salvage yard and got an original part -- and it's just like the replacement part! SOoooo.... Silly me, it's my old part that is BENT from the crash. And the new part won't fit because the MOTOR is out of alignment. Which is probably why the vibration noise is loud. Ugh. Now how to tell what is mis-aligned with the motor? THAT sounds tricky! I have a couple tests in mind that I could do w/o straightening the motor: *I could bend my new part to fit and see if a firm attachment helps reduce the noise. ...Or... *I could remove that mount entirely and see what happens! Yeah, a wild card test but what the heck. When it was sheared off before and I was driving the car back from the crash site I don't recall it being as loud as it is now! If neither of those tests is very helpful then I could work on sorting what is bent with the motor.
