gsr tranny popping out of 5th
hey all. i just did a b18c swap into an ek civic. drove it for about 400 miles, and now the 5th gear is popping out. right after i shift into 5th gear, it throws the stick back to neutral. anyone knows what the problem might be?? maybe shift-linkage, maybe something internal. any info would be appreciated. thanks.
I only ask this because when you are in you lower set of gear... 2nd, 4th, and reverse it only takes 7 degrees of motor/tranny rock to pull your car out of gear.. Make sure you torque rod is still tight where it bolts to the tranny.
Just let JDMSPEC said check your torque rod. I had the same problem after I did my swap it kept popping out of gear but it was happening in all gears. i just put it up on a lift and tighten it up and it was good as new.

Is it ever difficult to get it into gear in the first place? How did that clutch look when you put the motor in? I'm thinking clutch here.
thank you all for your input. i think the problem went away. i added about a quart of fluid into the tranny this morning, and took it for a ride. it didn't pop out. so i think the problem was that the tranny was a little dry, even though when i checked the tranny fluid, after swap, it seemed to be ok, obviously it wasn't. so if anything, i'll post up another reply. thanks again. props dubnine, and the rest you you guys who put in your effort in replying and two minutes to read this. peace.
