Default I’m new here and I need help!!!!! My 98 accord v6 hesitates and bogs down.

I am new here and I don’t know what’s going on with my wife’s car. She owns a 98 Accord v6, I recently did a tune up/oil change, and now I’m feeling the car hesitates when I give it gas, and sometimes when I go to start it it just dies. The car has almost 300,000 miles on it, the engine still runs strong but it’s bogging down when I give it gas and even hear a backfire sometimes when I’m trying to get going. Also the rpm runs really high about 5500 rpm before it stops bogging down or hesitation. When I’m running on the hwy I have no problems, but just getting going is the problem. I have done most of the work on this car car myself and this is the first time I have had a problem like this. I have changed the spark plugs not wires but am doing it in the next day or 2, also I have changed distributor cap and rotor. I don’t know what’s going on but if anyone has dealt with this problem could you please help and give me some insight on what I need to do. Thankyou and I will be waiting for some responses.

Ya, that's a good point, if the car didn't missbehave before you "tuned it" then that's likely the culprit. You may want to think about de-tuning that wunderful Accord back to sanity.

Not before the tune up. My wife bought the plugs and I believe they are ngk. I even gapped them before I put them in. Cap and rotor I’m not sure. I haven’t gotten the spark plug wires yet but I’m getting ready to take the manifold off and clean everything. A lot of people are dealing with the IACV, fuel pressure regulator, and even the EGR valve. So I’m gonna clean and test every part before I put it back together. I’m hoping that the throttle body was just clogged. The hardest part about doing all this is not know the codes since I lost my obd scanner somewhere. Feels like I’m driving in circles blindfolded.

Hit up an O'Reilly or Advanced Auto, they'll code scan your car for free.

Do not replace the oem plug wires if they are factory..trust me..it will not run the same..i believe its the cap and rotor..i would by oem and replace to factory condition..Honda's are vvverryyyyyy picky when you replace with autozone crap...the wires will last the lifetime of the vehicle if not damaged

What? I will throw a random suggestion. After 300k miles change the Catalytic converter. That will cause some of the issues you showcased.
