Default car sputter...

Im hoping to get some input from some of you guys on here, my car is driving pretty wierd lately and I thought I had fixed the problem...

96 d16y8 w/ ~180k miles.
car basically bogs anywhere between 1000-3500 RPMs. This isnt all the time, just every now and then but its been happening more frequently lately. The car was barely driveable a few months ago, sputtering really bad, so I changed the plugs, wires and distributor cap bc upon inspection of it- I noticed where cyl #2 plugs in it was corroded. This work fixed the problem.
(giving as much info that might be helpful to diagnose the problem)

When I drive the car, sometimes, lets say for example around 2500 rpms it feels & sounds like its stuck- you push the accelerator but it hesitates to keep driving smoothly. Other times its less noticeable and as you're driving it feels like the car "skipped a heart beat".

I know this shouldn't be too hard to figure out- just hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Im thinking it must be ignition related, could it be fuel related?

CLIFF NOTES: car has a periodic sputter between 1000-3500 rpms.

TIA

take your dizzy cap off and check all your ignition wires. Does your tach jump when this happens? if so its probably a loose wire in there. I would inspect the internals of your distributor. rotor/cap/wires
