Default Tranny issue

Hello all . Noob here . Have a 99' 00' ex civic with a usdm gsr tranny and motor swap . My question is , why cant i doen shift to 2nd unless im at an almost full stop and then hard getting into 3rd til like 20mph . I guess you can say i cant down shift in general . When i try , theres a like a blowing/whistling noise coming from the outside . Wont go into gear . Not sure what it is . Drain and refilled the clutch resovoir with dot3 . Also note , in idle there seems to be a grinding noise when i step on the clutch in neutral , not going into any gears(car is parked in nuetral with e brake up) .

Was fine when i bought it durimg this past thanksgiving .

Stage 3 act clutch(bought it like that)

No leaks .

Transmission flush ?

Any help advice would work .

P.s. i believe it is a gsr tranny but previous owner says its an ls . 75mph at roughly 3500rpm . So im not too sure . Dont bash me too hard on any of this haha

adjusted your pedal?
why people put beast as clutches on stock setups just makes me wonder what gave them the conclusion but in the end its not my car so I dont care.

75 mph at 3500 rpm sounds like an LS transmission to me.

Pedal adjustment is under the dash where the master cylinder connects to the pedal. Loosen the jam nut, then turn the rod going from the clevis into the master cylinder by hand. Re-tighten the jam nut when you're done.

Regarding what could be causing the difficult down shifts (besides pedal travel), your synchros could also be shot.

Roaring bearing sound with clutch pedal in is typically throwout bearing.

It's an LS, you need a throwout bearing and probably new synchros.
