Default Manual/Ps Steering U joint

Hey guys I just finished installing my manual rack on my 93 civic ex. Went from power steering to manual. Didn’t run into any problems at all.
Why am I reading that people are having problems with their u joints being too big or small?
Mine fit perfectly and turns the wheels no problem.
it was literally a direct bolt on.

I think it has to do with steering column, not the rack.

I think the tilt steering columns have a difference spline count and you need the U joint associated with the column.
I could be mistaken but I suspect that's the issue.

so assuming that’s the issue and I only change the rack I should be fine. Wheel turns no problem

92-95 civic share the same u joint for power and manual racks(i didn’t confirm regarding non-tilt columns), confirmed by pt number 53323-SM4-013. I believe people run into isues when installing a rack from an Integra into the civic or installing a civic manual rack into a teg.

Awesome. Thanks for the confirm. Appreciate it. Makes me feel better lol.
But that’s what I was thinking. I ordered one specifically for the civic off rockauto. 200$ for a new one if you guys need one. And it’s honestly not bad quality at all.
again thanks for the reply man !!

Even on Canadian models it looks like the U-joint is the same part number regardless of tilt column or not and power and manual racks.

I'm not sure why ppl stated you would need the u-joint. I remember coming across that and went through hell to pull the damn thing when I grabbed a tilt column at the wrecker.

Must be for the integra rack ppl were talking about.

'96-'00 are different sizes between P/S and manual. maybe someone assumed the same for the previous gen as well...
