Default reverse lights not coming on

The reverse lights aren't coming in in my car; I replaced the reverse light switch and the bulbs. Does anyone know where the grounds for that circuit are and how to test if the is there is continuity to the connector and lights. I have a gsr tranny and a b20 btw. If anyone know why it might not be working please let me know.

They didn't wire up the backup lights. It's at the large harness plug, in front of the shifter.

Part of the conversion is to add two wires from the interior harness to the switch on the transmission. One of the wires should be live when the key is on, and the other one also goes live when the switch closes because it is shifted to reverse. This wire goes back to the lights. The ground is in the trunk, on the black wire that is on the other side of the bulb. If the wires at the old switch location are live, the problem is likely that the wires in the trunk have broken where they go from the main part of the car to the trunk lid.

How can I check to see if they did?

Remove the shifter console and you will see the "large" plug. If they left it plugged and no wire has been messed with, they didn't wire it for the reverse lights.

Agreed that this is the likely cause. Fairly straightforward fix.
