Looks like a prelude hood by the shape of the light corners on the hood.

Looks like mis-match of pre and post face lift parts.

So I'll have to get a 2000 hood fenders headlights bumper and grille to make it legit right?

I realize it's not a prelude hood but I have no idea what car had a wider grill unless that was one of the differences in the 99-00 models over the previous 96-98 models.

I suspect if you get the proper hood you'd be able to get that back together properly with proper gaps overall.
The one thing I have noticed is the curve of the hood varies from car to car so the fender to hood line may be off and there is not a whole lot I have found you can do about it.

Why get a new hood when it looks like the bumper is wrong? The hood paint matches your mirrors and roof (all we can see).

YOu mean to tell me you bought a car, transferred the title and registered it and don't know what you have?

Back up and take another pic.

But from that, it looks like a 99-00 hood and headlights with a 97-98 bumper and grille.

Yeah, in my parts, the bumper covers are hard to come by but hoods are a dime a dozen.
Go figure.

I was hoping someone could clarify which car the smaller grill, bumper cover comes from for knowledge sake.
But alas, no such luck.

Based on your comment, and not hastily looking at the photo's, I know the 96-98 has the wider grill.
I can only assume the 98-00 has the narrow setup we are seeing in the pic.

You've got it backwards.

I miss understood the original post. I thought he said the car was a 97.

Really does help if I comprehend what I read.

It's a 99-00 hood on a 97 model car. Swap that hood for a 96-98 and you're good to go.

Yeah I get that.

And I see I was right originally when I thought he was saying the car was a 97 being the hood matches the rest, but he's got it backwards too. Bumper is 96-98 while the car (and hood) is 99-00.

Why do we have mismatching hood / bumper? Been in a front end accident?

that's a 99-00 hood on a 96-98 body. You need a 96-98 hood, or keep the existing hood and go with 99-00 fenders/grille/headlights/bumper.

Honest advice, I wouldn’t drive 3 hours
round trip to buy that car. If the front of the car looks this bad, imagine how the mechanical parts have been treated.

Ask the owner if it has been wrecked or repaired, wait for response. If no, leave the car alone, if yes, dig deeper for details. This thing has been damaged on the front. May have been something simple.. Hell, I've pulled too far forward on a ******* parking curb before and cracked a bumper.. I've been in 1 accident involving a collision with another vehicle that was not severe in the least where replacing front fender, bumper, and corner light made it perfectly fine again.
Bottom line, just ask em. If they say no, they're lying and you need to walk away.. No way **** is going to look like this unless it was replaced and you don't **normally** just throw together stock body pieces unless you're fixing a boo boo..

That was my first thought too.

For sure. No way in hell would I do a 3 hour round trip when you already see these kinds of issues and possibly a prior wrecked vehicle. Sit on your cash and be patient, keep looking. When I was young and impatient I jumped on the first BMW 7 series I found close because I wanted one so bad and I ended up regretting that decision. It's much better to just go without for a few months if needs be than to pull the trigger on what could become a financial parasite.

...and when you ask, don't mention the hood/bumper issues. Just ask generally; like "ever in any accidents or body repairs done?" Let them fill in details, don't supply any.
