Key lock cylinder help!!!!
Recently bought a eg that was stolen before. The key isn’t Present so the dude that I bought it from gotten a different lock cylinder and was using a different key. The doors aren’t lockable because it’s a different key. I was wondering if I could use ek doors, trunk, and key lock cylinder on eg? And i was also wondering if Honda still makes lock cylinders I could buy instead of having to find lock cylinders at the junk without keys along with it. Thank you
Go to the dealer and have a key made for your car. There's a code for your VIN and they cut it to that. Now you have a door key! From there, you check the DIY about "Fixing a lock that works with any key" and you will see the little bits you need to match your ignition key to the door key. Little tabs inside the lock cylinder that "read" your key and allow the cylinder to turn. Very very easy once you figure out what you're looking at. Removing the ignition cylinder also quite easy. Check the shop manual (this can be downloaded with a quick google search.)
