HELP PLEASE intermittent stalling d16y7 in a 94 civic sedan.
Firstly, the background.
Bought the car car a month ago after it sat for 6 months. Put a battery in it and it started right up. Ran PERFECT for 2 weeks. Then one cold night the car started to spit and sputter at highway speeds.. stalled. Turned back on immediately, ever since it’s done the same thing.. doesn’t mater if it’s cold or warm (both outside or cars temp). New fuel filter under the hood and strainer in the tank (thought I may have gotten some bad gas). New plugs, wires are fairly new just replaced before it sat. I have good fuel pressure and obviously the pump primes. Some days the car will start and run all day no problems. Other days it’ll run for 2 minutes and then die and crank but no start. Let the car sit for 10-20 mins and it’ll crank right up. New distributor is coming Friday.. but I’m not convinced that’s going to fix it. I’m at a loss, I’ve read multiple forums on here and no one directly answers any comments regarding the intermittent stalling. And no one seems to post their fixes.. just the parts they throw at it until they get their answer and the post dies.
To clarify....
imtermittent stalling at idle or under load.
intermittent hard to start/ no start.
good fuel pressure, good pump.
motor is not original.
New plugs
fuel filter (under hood)
fuel strainer (in tank)
new starter
new battery
sorry to bring a new thread to you guys that’s been covered 100 times. But I can’t seem to find my answer.
