Potential blown transmission
Hello everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this as I am a new user here. But essentially I am looking for some advice from a few experts.
Story:
Essentially, about a week ago we notice oil leaking from the bottom of my Honda 2015 Civic EX. We took the car into Honda this week on Feb 5 to get fixed (I initially thought it was a loose bolt or something). When I went to pick up the car I (naïvely) had assumed it was fixed and drove it home. Upon going home I took a closer look at the invoice and it said that they recommend replacing the 'transmission pressure switch'. I phone Honda back and inquire, and they said that they took my car in and only did an inspection and fixed the oil leak, they would have to book me in again in a week to do the pressure switch. I say that's fine and continue driving the car as normal. Few days later, I start the car and it would not accelerate, pretty sure it was stuck in first gear, making funny noises, etc.
So I am now dealing with Honda in person trying to rectify this, they have been pretty defensive so far saying that it is our fault that we drove it and that since they gave us their 'recommendation' its going to be on us.
Currently, the vehicle is being examined by Honda so we don't know exactly what the damages are yet, however I am getting super nervous and don't know if I am covered by warranty, or if I have any negotiation power that it is their fault (why would they let me drive the car home after this inspection?).
Again, sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this - but was wondering if anyone has any advice for me here?
Thanks.
