Default 3rd clutch pressure switch-2006 Honda Civic

Hi People!! Can someone please give me some guidance? I recently had some issues with my 2006 Honda Civic. It started to overheat and from there started bucking and engine light came on. Long story short, brought it to Honda for repairs. It was a cracked engine block which Honda covered in the warranty. I noticed that when I put the car in drive or accelerate slightly, the car feels like it sort of surges, or it won't stop. It's weird. I thought it would work itself out from the recent repairs. I contacted Honda and was told that I needed a 3rd clutch pressure switch to correct the problem. When I questioned this, she told me it was serious and that I had only days or maybe weeks before I ruin the tranny and would not be able to switch gears. Is this the case? After all the research I have done, it doesn't appear that my car's tranny is experiencing any real problems. Wouldn't the "D" light be flashing or some other indicator? If Honda is correct and I do need this part replaced, am I in any danger if I don't do this immediately and/or can I actually damage my tranny to the extent told to me?
