can i put a cabin air filter in a 2000 civic si ?
I was wondering if anyone knew if a 2000 civic si has a space for a cabin air filter? I've heard different answers from different people. I read that it doesn't come with one but that you can put one in. Is that true or does it not take a filter?
Yes, you can put one in, if its a USDM EM1 it doesn't have one. The 97-01 CRVs & 00-06 insights came with them and will work on the 98-00 civics. But when I bought my stuff about two years ago the frame was discontinued. I got lucky and found the filter frame on ebay new.
Complete assembly (seal, frame & filter) 80290-ST3-E01
Frame 80292-ST3-E01
Seal 80293-ST3-E01
Filter 80291-ST3-515
EDIT:
Here is a thread on the swap.

You need the frame and filter from 97-01 crv or first gen insight, frame can be found for cheap at junk yard and order a new filter from honda. I retrofit r-134a system into my 92 Dx and used the em1 evap and added the cabin filter.

Yes you can if it has a slot for one.
Don't even get the filter from Honda. You'll pay a premium. Get something out of Rockauto for a 97-01 CR-V to save an asston of coin.
