EH2 Fuel gauge

EH2 Fuel gauge
1992 eh2 hatch cx. My fuel gauge used to read half full at full tank. This was indicative of a bad sending unit so i replaced it. now my gauge stays at empty and my swnding unit reads 0-5 ohms. I have read all posts but none have my problem. I noticed the 3p connector has wires only in the middle and left side, and it looks like my sending unit has leads on the middle and right side. Is there differences in sending units? I took apart my cluster and the gauge seems fine. Thank you for any help.

If you ground the Yel/Wht sending unit wire, does the fuel gauge needle rise to Full?
The sending unit is attached to the Yel/Wht wire from the gauge and the Blk/Wht ground wire.

Yes, The needle slowly rose from empty to about half and I took the jumper out. I believe I bought a sending unit for a dx civic. I have a cx and it has a lower capacity tank, so maybe the connections are also different. Why is the plug a 3p with only two wires?

Test whether the fuel sending unit ground wire has continuity with body ground. It should.

because 5g’s in other markest (EDM/JDM) come with low fuel lights, and that third wire is needed then.
