I am in process of replacing head gasket on my h22 civic. Head has been checked by machine shop, no cracks or leaks and the head is straight they just polished the surface. So i installed new head gasket, torqued the head bolts using torque wrench ( i followed the service manual). I put the camshafts and cam caps and now the camshafts wont line up straight. The intake camshaft i can turn it by hand but the exhaust cam is hard to turn and i dont want to bend the valves lol. I am attaching photos.
With the belt off, that's kinda how they sit, right? Bring the pistons down and try to rotate the cams by hand. They, snap past where you want them to stop, right?
I sort of remember having the same issue with my GSR.
Bring the the No 1 piston back to TDC (make sure the plugs are out) and do the full belt tensioning procedure.

Thanks guys rotating the crank tip worked. Now i am trying to put the belt back on but it extremely difficult and i don't wan to reuse the auto tensioner. So i just ordered KS manual tensioner and the question is can i remove the auto tensioner and its mechanism and install the manual tensioner without removing the lower cover? Because the timing belt, water pump and all seals replaced 9 months back and i don't have power tools to loosen the crank bit** bolt.
