hello
i keep seeing oil on the electrical wire of the solenoid. i replaced twice both gaskets and it wouldn't solve it (although honda doesn't list the upper gasket for this model, it's supplied with the lower gasket).
does it affect the vtec's functionality?
does it mean the solenoid has to be replaced? i got 2 spare ones so don't have to buy.

a small dripping leak wont effect the VTEC functioning. when you replaced the gaskets did you put a little silicone grease on the gaskets? sometimes they leak if they're dry.

i put some oil on them.

 

is the oil dripping out the solenoid housing?

 

the oil is on the wire of the solenoid, probably comes out of the solenoid itself.

 

Sorry for the delay, probably need to replace the solenoid... if that's the fix let us know.
