Default P0133 02 Sensor Issues

Hello Everyone,

I've been having this code P0133 code (O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1) come up so I changed the 02 Sensor with a Bosch 02 sensor from Advanced Auto Parts and also changed the Distributor.

However, my car is still having issues with "losing power" and "high idling" while I am trying. (I have two cars so I drive the other one currently) My personal mechanic has been busy and can't take a look at it until next week. What else can I do? What do you guys think? I've read on other posts that it could be the catalytic converter?

I drive a 1997 Civic LX and recently did an automatic to manual swap. Note mentioning that a P0453 and P0450 code as well for the EVAP sensor, my mechanic thinks it is a leak.

do you have the o2 connectors switched around? your code is for a primary sensor, what would the cat have to do with it? if the plugs are right, trace the wiring for breaks. don't just throw parts at it.

I'm not sure about the cat, I was reading other threads about the P0133 code issue and it seemed to come up frequently.

Well, I took the distributor and 02 sensor from the junk car that I used to do the manual swap, both of them were bad so I had to replace them.

I have an aftermarket catalytic converter/exhaust manifold so the downstream 02 sensor is elsewhere. So I believe I did not improperly installed the upstream 02 sensor.

Possibly caused by the ECU swap. Get an ECU for your year (97) and body type (e.g., coupe or sedan)

Check for an exhaust leak.
