61 Primary oxygen sensor <~ whats the difference between this and code 41 for the o2 sensor heater ??? after i give the car gas and let off on decel the car backfires and spits a little, then after give it some gas it hesitates...

 

My list says code 61 is for the 1st sensor (before the cat), slow response. Code 1 is for other sensor problems (too low or too high). Code 41 is for a non-working heater in that sensor.

Code 61 seems like it has to be the sensor. The other codes might have been bad wiring somewhere in the car.

 

you said the first sensor ? well the set up that i have is a B18C1 in a VX so, im guessing that you mean the O2 SENSOR, right ??

 

Yes, O2 sensor. You didn't say what year, but since code 61 even exists I figured it was OBD-II. Those have a 2nd O2 sensor back at the outlet of the cat.
