B20vtec CEL 14 PLEASE HELP
1996 Honda Civic ek with a b20b block b16a2, p28 obd1 ecu with hondata. So since the car is obd2 but the ecu is obd1 I have to take a paper clip and put it in a blue plug to pull the CEL number on the dash. It was number 14 and that’s it. Which is the idle air control valve. Someone told me I can clean it and it will work fine so I did then turned the car back on and still same code popping up. Do I need to get a new IACV or could it be somthing else making it stay?
First for an OBD1 system you must use a 2-wire IACV. Code 14 being thrown immediately means that the IACV circuit is open. Ohm test the IACV. Also check the harness wire colors and confirm that the IACV plug is the right one. It is possible to switch the 2 wire plugs onto the wrong sensors.
